Overview

The Stadion Hostel is located in Helsinki city centre right in the Olympic Stadium in it's northern curve. All of the main sites of the city are within easy walking distance and there are several sport arenas just nearby. It is also close to the Finnish National Opera. The hostel is always easy to find as the 72 metre high Olympic Stadium Towner is visible from all areas of Helsinki. It is around a 15 minute walk to the train station. This is a great hostel to meet people and does attract many backpackers too.

Accommodation

There is a total of 162 beds in the hostel and there are both private rooms, which are only sold as complete rooms. These are single rooms, rooms for two and three people and rooms for four and five people. The other accommodation is made up of dormitories, these are from 9 bedded dormitories to 12 bedded dormitories with bunk beds. All of the prices include bed linen and a towel and bathrooms and toilets are situated on each corridor.

Restaurants and Bars

Breakfast is not included in the price but costs around 5.90 euros locally. The cafeteria opens daily at 07.30 am and serves a buffet breakfast for this price. The buffet includes cereals, eggs, bacon, sausages, cheese, ham, bread, butter, jam, juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. There are also sandwiches, snacks, sweets and soft drinks for sale in the cafeteria. For groups, the hostel is able to provide meals but pre-booking is needed. There is also a guest kitchen and dining room for those who prefer to cook their own food.

Other Facilities

For your comfort there is free internet access. There is a guest computer in the cafeteria and a wireless LAN network covering all the social areas of the hostel. For travellers with own vehicles there is free parking.
You can wash your clothes in the self service laundry. In the TV room you can follow the world news, which is available in English and German too.
